ARMY BDU/DCU UNIFORM WEAR OUT DATES



 The Army has announced the wear out dates for several uniforms and uniform items worn by soldiers.

The following Army Uniforms/uniform items have a wear out date of 30 Apr 2008 for the AC, USAR, ARNG (the wear out date for Army ROTC is Apr 2009):

  • Army Battle Dress Uniform (BDU)
  • Army Desert Battle Dress Uniform (DCU)
  • Brown T-Shirt
  • Black Leather Combat Boots
  • Black and Green Jungle Boots
  • Woodland and Desert Pattern Caps
  • Olive Drab Name Tape and U.S Army Tape
  • Subdued Olive Green, Shoulder Sleeve Insignias & Subdued Shoulder Sleeve Insignias-Former Wartime Service
  • Black Rigger Belt

Soldiers should refer to ALARACT 004/2008 for more detailed information

    i dont like the fact that the bdu or dcu is now unofficial wear for our troops lets say that we end up going to war somewhere with a tropical climate we would lose due to the fact acus can be picked out of a forest so easy a blind man could see them and the only way the bdus and acus would come into play is if the dod ends up making them offical wear for our troops once again its just not right to eliminate the uniforms we would have to use again sometime in the future.
