AIR FORCE ALTERS COLD WEATHER UNIFORM POLICY

Airmen are authorized to wear BDU Gortex Jacket with ABUs.

The Air Force has announced that Commanders are authorized to permit Airmen to wear the Woodland patterned Camouflage Gore-Tex coat or field jacket with the Airman Battle Uniform (ABU) if the new ABU APECS jacket is not available at their location and other options are not available.

ABU pattern APECS jackets are expected to become more widely available in Feb 2008.

This Air Force Policy expires 1 June 2008.
