NAVADMIN 190/08 Navy Service Uniform Available for purchase 31 July 2008
The Navy announced that the new Navy Service Uniform will be available for purchase by sailors at Great Lakes and California NEXs beginning July 31st 2008.
The Service Uniform (SU) is intended for year round wear and replaces the summer white and winter blue uniform for sailors in pay grades E-1 to E-6. The SU is authorized for wear for office work, watch, liberty or business ashore when prescribed as the uniform of the day.
NAVADMIN 190/08 announced the 24 month roll out E1-E6 Service Uniform (SU) schedule.

- JAN 09 GULF REGION and MILLINGTON TN
- APR 09 NAVAL DISTRICT of WASHINGTON
- JUL 09 TIDEWATER
- OCT 09 SOUTHEAST
- JAN 10 NORTHEAST
- APR 10 EUROPE/JAPAN/GUAM
All existing E1-E6 service uniforms will continue to be authorized until the Navy Service Uniform mandatory wear date for all sailors of July 2010.
