Air Force Good Conduct Medal is back

                                                                             Air Force Good Conduct Medal

The Stars and Stripes is reporting that Air Force Secretary Michael B. Donley approved reinstating the Air Force Good Conduct Medal in November, 2008.

The Air Good Conduct Medal is being awarded retroactively to 2006, when it was discontinued, so there will be no impact to Airmen who have had no disciplinary problems over the past three years.

The Air Force Uniform Board initially recommended discontinuing the medal, but in January 2008, the Air Force held an awards and decorations summit recommended bringing the medal back.

The Air Force Good Conduct Medal recognizes enlisted airmen who have demonstrated exemplary behavior for three years.
