PROTOTYPE USAF PT UNIFORM BEING WEAR TESTED

The Air Force News service is reporting that a prototype Air Force PT uniform is being wear tested.

The PT uniform is 100% polyester with a moisture management system.  The prototype differs from the current USAF PT uniform in that it has better reflectivity, decreased noise, is lighter and has no hood or vents.

If adopted the new Air Force PT uniform will consist of a PT jacket and pants, PT shirt, and tapered PT shorts with pockets.

Based off an Air Force Academy design, the current Air Force PT uniform was adopted in 2004.  Negative feedback on the PT uniforms weight, heat and comfort led to prototype testing of a new design.

Wear testing ends 31 March.  Once all data is collected and analyzed, the Air Force Chief of Staff will be briefed for a decision.
