USMC Deployment Bag Update


           

Fielding began in Oct 2009 of a new USMC Deployment Bag to deploying Marines.  Marines will be issued the deployment bag at the STAP.  Upon return from deployment, the Deployment Bag will be returned to the STAP.

60,000 Deployment Bags will be issued:

I MEF - 12,000
II MEF - 12,000
III MEF-Okinawa-4,000
III MEF-KBay-2,000
Barstow Storage Depot-30,000

The deployment bag is intended to replace one of the two seabags that Marines currently deploy with.  It enhances the Marines ability carry and transport personal protective equipment.

The USMC Deployment bag can be transported using its wheels, on the shoulders using shoulder straps, or it can be used as a footlocker.
