NAVADMIN 020/10: NAVY SERVICE DRESS KHAKI UNIFORM UPDATE

NAVADMIN 020/10 provides an update on the new Navy Service Dress Khaki Uniform and announces approval for final development of the Service Dress Khaki Uniform (SDK) as an optional Navy Uniform.

The Navy completed SDK wear testing in October 2009.  The new Navy Service Dress Khaki Jacket will be a Poly/Wool blend and may be worn with the existing Service Khaki pants or skirt.

The Navy Service Dress Khaki Uniform will be optional wear by E7 through O10 in place of the Navy Summer White and Service Khaki (when summer uniforms are prescribed).  It may also be worn in situations wear a tie is appropriate such as office environments.  In those situations it will serve as an optional configuration of the Service Khaki (Long Sleeve Shirt, tie with/without the SDK Jacket).

The Navy will publish a detailed Service Dress Khaki Uniform wear regulations at a later date.  The Navy Uniform Matters Office projects the SDK uniform to be available by FY12.

Sailors can find more information on the new Navy Service Dress Khaki Uniform NAVADMIN 020/10.
