Army Replacing Velcro from ACU uniforms

5% Discount Code "ARMYACU10" for All ACUArmy.com Military Clothing

USATODAY is reporting that the Army is replacing velcro on ACU uniforms with buttons.   Based on feedback from Soldiers the Army began testing alternatives last year.

The simple button was chosen as the replacement on pockets and cargo pockets.   Velcro is getting dirty and wasn't holding up to the riggors of Afghanistan and full pocket loads.   Velcro has been a part of the Army ACU uniform since it was first introduced in 2004.

Velcro will remain on the ACU, but replacing the velcro on ACU pants pockets will save the Army approximately $1.00 per uniform.
