Oh BOY...do YOU speak the truth.
When I worked in the DoD operating room all the cloth goods were from China. Just bought a PRE-2009 Boonie cap and it had a label...'Made in China.'

We need to stop supporting our known enemies in my opinion. But hey...I'm just an average citizen...What do I know???

There is no clear guidance, especially written on the wear of the new GEN-III XCWCS. Pretty soon local regulations and restrictions will make every thing but the new poly-pros useless. Do you have any written guidance. Here on deployment the latest version of 670-1 we can download from military websites is FEB 2005. We don't even wear BDU's??????????

Finally, a suitable uniform for all of our sailors working on the ground and non-traditional environments. The public is generally unaware of how many sailors are currently deployed on the ground in support of combat operations. This uniform is a step in the right direction, considering the Navy's dirt sailors have been wearing the generic tricolor desert uniform for 20 years now.
Why are we still keeping the old tricolor though? Wouldn't it just be easier, and more practical, to eventually issue the NWU type II to all sailors taking on an assignment in desert environments?

Looks like the Navy had not learned from the experiences in the Vietnam War and Adm Zumwalt's change in uniforms. Back then everybody looked like airline pilots. It ruined the Navy. Enlistment went down, down, down. We shall see.

I retired from the USN a mere 15 years ago as a CDR and former CO. I'm in San Antonio now and the other day encountered a sailor who appeared to be impersonating a Marine. But no, it was a sailor in the latest round of USN uniform changes. Yikes! And then blue camies - thought only the Air Force was getting that weird! Poor old USN -- what have ye done? For the fleet, looks like every day is Halloween. So sad.
